Our good friend and colleague, Jon Haag, suffered a fatal heart attack Saturday evening near his home in Anchorage. He leaves behind a loving family, his wife Polly and two sons Joel and Ben, and many, many friends whose lives are forever bettered for having known him. Jon truly was one of the great ones. A great father, husband, friend, mentor, adventurer, storyteller and so much more.
Jon had a wonderful outlook on life, always quick to laugh and joke in any situation. He had an infectious smile and sense of humor
that made him a joy to be around. He really lived so much of what life has to offer. He had so many stories of places he had been and things he had seen. When Jon told the "big fish" stories, you knew they were true. And yet he would tell you that the best experience of all was having his family.
It is said that death is hardest for those left behind, and so for those of us who have been left behind we remember Jon with love and respect and take his memory with us as we go forward. |
